About Us
Finch Contracting was started by Ellis & Jane Finch in the 1960’s. By 1978 they started providing grass silage services to the Taupo area which continues today. Finch Contracting was the first in New Zealand to own a Self-Propelled Forage Harvester, a Claas Jaguar 690. Over the years the business has grown and now operates a large range of agricultural machinery to cater for the specific requirements of modern farming including four Claas Jaguars, trucks, and a range of Fendt tractors.
With Ellis and Jane now happily retired the business is owned and operated by their son, Darcy and his wife, Rachael. The company employs up to 25 staff over winter and 40 staff in the planting and harvesting months.
