Finch Contracting Ltd are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and hardworking people from both NZ and Overseas to join our great team for the season. Our season typically runs from September through to April. Experience is preferred but not essential, we pride ourselves on growing the skillsets of our Staff and providing a great workplace environment. Permanent contracts are available for fulltime employment as our workflow demands.

We go the extra mile for our Staff and will assist you as soon as you land in Auckland making sure you have a ride from the airport to our yard in Te Awamutu. Also assisting in setting up your bank accounts and inland revenue number for tax purposes. Furnished accommodation will be supplied with power and internet for a reasonable amount of rent. You will be supplied with work uniform including steel cap boots, shirts, singlets and jerseys. If you wish to stay over in New Zealand for the winter or return the next season we will assist you with immigration applications in the future

Tractor and Machinery Operators
Finch Contracting are seeking experienced Tractor and Machinery Operators to join our agricultural contracting team for the upcoming season from September 2026 through till April 2027.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months experience operating Tractors and machinery for an agricultural contractor, will enjoy being part of a team, motivated, reliable, honest, flexible and have a can- do attitude with a desire to learn new skills are a minimum for these roles.
We require:
- Minimum of a Class 1 NZ Full Driver's License or Foreign equivalent which can be converted to a NZ license.
- Have the correct visa to be eligible to work in NZ or be a NZ resident.
- Willing and able to work extended shifts when required in the busy period.
- Commitment to the whole season (Grass & Maize Harvest)
- Reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
- Can work in a team environment as well as on your own.
- Respects our equipment, our customers and their property.
- Practical sense, with initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines to operate in a safe and effective manner.
- Accurate record and time keeping skills required.
- Good understanding of general machinery servicing with ability and willingness to maintain Tractors and other implements daily.
Finch's offer:

Truck / Truck and Trailer operators
Finch Contracting are seeking experienced Class 4 and 5 Operators to join our agricultural contracting team for the upcoming season from September 2026 through till April 2027.
The position is varied with cartage for Grass and Maize Silage, Hay, Bulk products, Shavings and other cartage as required.
The position would suit someone who has experience driving truck and trailer off road and has operated a truck next to a Forage Harvester., will enjoy being part of a team, motivated, reliable, honest, flexible and have a can- do attitude with a desire to learn new skills are a minimum for these roles.
We require:
- Minimum of a Class 4 NZ Driver's License.
- Clean driving record.
- Compliant with NZ Logbook rules.
- Commitment to the whole season (Grass & Maize Harvest)
- Reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
- Can work in a team environment as well as on your own.
- Respects our equipment, our customers and their property.
- Practical sense, with initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines to operate in a safe and effective manner.
- Accurate record and time keeping skills required.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Ability and willingness to maintain Trucks & Trailers daily.
